Tip Africa takes home prizes at SAPF Awards

The Cape Town-based custom publisher walked away with two top prizes at the 2022 SA Publication Forum competition and finished with two publications under the top three overall. What’s more, all five entries from Tip Africa Publishing were recognised by the judges.

Since 2002, the SA Publication Forum Awards have been acknowledging excellence in corporate publications. This year Tip Africa placed its stamp on the competition with a diverse set of finalists and winners.

In the category for Best External Publication, Tip Africa won with Stellenbosch Visio, the lifestyle magazine that is a focal point for the Stellenbosch community. “Vibrance and passion come through very powerfully in the page-turning writing,” said the judges.

Also based in the City of Oaks, though operating in three regions around the world, is Mediclinic International. Tip Africa is responsible for the company’s reporting suite, making the results for Best Annual Report memorable thrice over: winner (Mediclinic International Annual Report 2022) and joint second runners-up (Mediclinic International Clinical Services Report and Mediclinic International Sustainable Development Report).

Let’s Build a Bank, the Capitec commemorative book, was first runner-up in the category for Best One-off Publication. “It is a powerful and inspirational story, and very well told,” according to the judges.

Capitec’s Let’s Build a Bank furthermore came second for Publication of the Year, followed by the Mediclinic International Annual Report 2022.

Tip Africa Publishing also received recognition for Excellence in Writing (Let’s Build a Bank and Stellenbosch Visio) and Excellence in Design (Let’s Build a Bank and Mediclinic Annual Report).
